Invasive to Native Restoration Package
Ready to replace invasive species in your yard? The invasive to native restoration package is ideal for replacing invasive woody plants in yards, hedges, gardens, and small natural landscapes. It’s offered locally for customers within 30 miles of Duluth, MN.
Replacement native species are selected for site conditions and customer requests (e.g., privacy screen, edible fruit, fall color).
Package details:
Free 30-minute, on-site consultation
Must be within 30 miles of Duluth, MN
Total restoration area must be less than one acre
Project timeline:
Year one: Cut and treat woody invasives, stack or chip on site, winter sow native replacement seed mix
Year two: Hand pull invasive seedlings twice during growing season, option to plant bare-root native shrubs or trees in fall
Year three: Plant bare-root or containerized native shrubs and trees in spring or early summer, hand pull invasive seedlings twice during growing season

Amur maple (Acer ginnala)
Japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii)
Siberian peashrub (Caragana arborescens)
Russian olive (Elaeagnus angustifolia)
Winged burning bush (Euonymus alatus)
Glossy buckthorn (Frangula alnus)
Non-native bush honeysuckles: Tatarian, Morrows, Bell’s, and Amur honeysuckle (Lonicera tatarica, L. morrowii, L. x bella, L. maackii)
Non-native knotweeds: Japanese, Bohemian, and Giant knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum, P. x bohemicum, and P. sachalinese)
Common buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica)
Multiflora rose (Rosa multiflora)
Pricing:
$50 - $750 for invasive species management, depending on size and density of infestation
+ $50-$750 for replacement seed mix depending on size and species diversity
